My chosen Outfits

This outfit is going to be used to ‘fill in the gaps.’ The random shots that will cut between the narrative to show present time will be peformed in this outfit. I think the white and the floral design suggest innocence. It shows that in present tense she is actually an innocent young girl and proves that girls especially are usually quite vulnerable when drunk.

This outfit is going to be used for the ‘swinging on the lamp post’ scene. Again, this shot is a way of using different locations and different outfits in order to fit the conventions of Katy Perry's music videos. Similar to the outfit above this would be ideal to show her innocence a provide a more positive image to her.

This outfit is going to be used as part of the narrative when the character wakes up in the bath from a night out obviously not remembering how she ended up there. I plan to wear ripped tights and my make up is going to be smudged. I used ripped tights to suggest that night had been unpredictable and disastrous.

In the song, I have chosen to do, it says, ‘it felt so wrong, it felt so right.’ What I plan to do here is use a red outfit and white outfit to juxtapose her feelings about it feeling right and wrong at the same time. Red is to symbolise the guilt of what happened on the night out and not remembering everything that happened. White is to show her innocence and purity as a female.

I have planned to wear four different outfits when I’m using split screen. I think this will make it look fun and interesting as well as portray a key convention in music videos where the artist is seen in various outfits throughout.

There are various shots of the artist leaning against a wall. I wanted to portray a rebellious side to the character, as the lyrics almost sound sexual. I plan to wear high heeled black boots with this outfit .

  1. Great pictures, it makes your blog interesting to read! Can you include a little more like the symbolic analysis sentence - so you justify why each outfit would be ideal? E.g. why ripped tights? What does it show about the character? What are the connotations?
