This is just a brief list on what I've been thinking in class at the moment to include in my digipack.
-kisses to link with the video - on the top and bottom of the advertisement and the cd cover.
-An image of a kiss as katy perry's name comes up at the beginning of the video to link with the advertisement and cd cover.
- the font called lipsum on dafont. looks as though its been drawn with lipstick.
- the writing will have images of the artist leaning on the title.
- so far the background is going to be plain white.
- re look at story board and see if I can include some sort of kiss in the video. for example: blow a kiss.
see if final cut can do a transition of a kiss shape.

Ideas for fonts
I've been looking on the website, dafont.com and downloaded some fonts I think would be appropriate for my CD cover and magazine advertisement as well as downloading some fonts that wouldn't be suitable.
I really like the second font on this page because of its girly impression. Its also written in blocks so it would be easier for me to do the idea of images leaning against the letters. I think it gives off a fun, light hearted idea of what the song is going to be like. I don't think the text looks boring and with colour added to, it will be perfect for the type of font i'm looking for. I also thought the top font on the bottom image also fit well in my chosen genre of music because of the love hearts used to create this young, fun impression. It relates well to the song as its about kissing! The one below this on the 2nd page is a font I used to demonstrate something I wasn't looking for. It looks dark which contrasts to what my song is about as well as the pointed lettering which I think suggests an unhappy mood. Its possibly creepy looking which doesn't fit in my type of song. The final font at the very top i originally liked but the more I look at the more dull I feel. I don't see any excitement jump out of this font. It looks simple and boring with no real emphasis of brightness and buzzy atmospheres which is what i'm trying to produce in my music video

Magazine Advertisement Planning
I have completed my planning for the magazine part of my digi pack. I am still yet to complete my CD cover and story boarding my music video but it has been started. I wanted to include some more audience research in my planning for the magazine advertisement therefore I wrote a very quick question for around 20 people. This is to help me choose a magazine title name which. The question asked was “which title do you prefer?’
The vibe
Vibe
Buzz
Music fest
These are what my results showed. So as you can see more people preferred the title Music Fest but not far behind is The Vibe.
The colours I am using for my magazine advertisement match the colours of the CD cover so that the audience will immediately realise that the advertisement is advertising Katy Perry’s single, I kissed a girl. It is going to be half pink and the rest plain white. Despite magazine articles commonly using a similar image from the CD cover, I am aiming to be simple yet reflect her girly personality with colour. The title it self is going to be central to the advert and I have planned to use images of myself leaning on the lettering of the title which I also want to include on my CD cover. To add to realism I am using tour dates to show when she is out on tour, a common feature in advertising an artist. At the bottom of the advertisement, I have planned to use a rainbow and an image of the artist lying beneath it. This will imitate Katy Perry’s like for colour. Overall my magazine advertisement will have limited text due to most adverts doing so to add to persuasion.
The images above show my planning process of my magazine advertisement.
I now need to think about costume hair and make up for the photo shoot and a location in which would suit this. In my media lesson tomorrow, I plan to think more about my CD cover and to start story boarding my music video.

My Ideas
I have looked at previous students work and found two that I really like. Both of these pieces were given a mark of ten. They weren't from the same group but both pieces are equally good.
I really like how realistic this looks. They have used the same image from the CD cover which I don't intend to do however I want to use the same colours so that if someone was to look at the advertisement, they would know that it was promoting the CD. I also like the way they have rated it and added a quote underneath which is something I wish to include in my advertisement. They have also included tour dates which is another aspect to aid its realism. This is going to be my model template as I think it is very accurate.
I really like the idea of the shots as the background. It must have been incredibly time consuming therefore to save time and to imitate Katy Perry's style, I have chosen to go simple with just a pink colour. I love the way the title is set out and I'm planning to do a similar idea. Its different and looks interesting. I also like the way there is a scrunched up piece of a paper in the centre of the cover. It would actually fit quite nicely to my narrative from my music video and I'm thinking about including a scrunched up piece of paper with a lipstick kiss on it so that it links to my video.

Ancillary Task
I also looked at a past students example of a magazine article. It includes colour on a white background which is what i want to create for my CD cover. It looks realistic in the way it uses the fact the audience can now buy the track in HMV which is what I want to include in my advert. However applying my results of my questionnaire most people said that they bought their music from itunes therefore this is what I will promote. The title is positioned to the left of the article which also adds to realism however I think the colour could have been darker so that juxtaposes the background. The title doesn't stand out as much due to the fact it shares the same colour as its background. I have noticed that the magazine advertisement uses limited writing and have focused the audience mainly on the image which is hat i will remind myself of in the process of planning. The image is used as the background of the advertisement. This is something I won't chose to do, however I will use the same colours from my CD cover.
Looking at both examples of what I want to do for my digipack, I have come up with a list I need to think about over the next couple of days.
CD COVER
Photo shoot ideas - exact location
costumes
where I want the artist to be positioned in the frame
Where the title is going to be
Am I going to include a book with lyrics and photos?
Magazine advertisement
title of the magazine
image as a whole back ground?
what needs to be included- the writing
the colour of the background

Ancillary Task
After my results from my questionnaire it was apparent that there are a majority of people who look at an album cover therefore this is what I have planned to do as part of my digipack. Alongside my album cover, I plan to do a Magazine advertisement which was a popular choice in my questionnaire.
I have studied Katy Perry's actual single cover for I kissed a girl and I picked a student's magazine article to look at. Looking at her single cover it is noticeable that it is very simple. It contains her as the artist on the left side of cover with the title of her single as well as her name on the right side. It is all on a white back ground. The colours of the title are very similar to what she is wearing which also adds to the simplicity. Although the cover is simple it is still effective because of the way there is so little on there. It grabs the eye because of the powerful use of white as the background. They colours are all associated with femininity and youth. It may also reflect upon her personality. We can see Katy Perry in full view and she is wearing a prerogative outfit therefore aiming it for males as well. Not only this but her outfit is fashionable therefore it can also attract the female gender. The title is large and the font is playful emphasising the playful, fun style of music she has. I found a youtube clip showing the process in which Katy Perry's Teenage dream album was being made. It was interesting to watch but it gave me an idea of her style. She has some wacky ideas!
